This is a project of the Socio-Pedagóxica Galega Association geared towards teachers and students and which has been running over the last sixteen years. This initiative emerged in response to the progressive neglect of the use of our own language among youngsters.<\/p>\n
Its main aim is to encourage the oral use of Galician and, therefore, its normalisation, as a routine means of communication among young people, for the creating and recreating of stories as well as the use of the language in the education system. At the end of the day, it is seeking to give Galician back the space that corresponds to it.

\nTíralle da lingua runs training seminars for teachers on oral expression, and an oral story competition for schoolchildren all over Galicia; it has two phases, one on a school level and a final phase concentrated in the city of Santiago.<\/p>\n
Its specific aims are to contribute towards the process to normalise Galician; to encourage the active use of Galician among youngsters as the true driving force for a change in habits; to encourage oral expression so that people speak and listen to Galician, and to revive the value of our language as an essential element in communication, as the vehicle for transmitting our culture and as a tool for spreading knowledge about our own reality.<\/p>\n
Taking into consideration the teachers, the students participating in the school level and the final phase, as well as the oral sessions in the classrooms, the influence of action may reach as many as 2,000 people in each edition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
