The “Portal das Palabras” is an initiative being promoted by the Royal Academy of the Galician Language (RAG) and the Barrié Foundation (a private Galician organisation). It was set up with the initial aims to disseminate the lexis –and to expand the lexicography– as well as to think about and develop the tools needed for this dissemination. Right now, our project comprises the following:
\n 
\n· A web portal (www.portaldaspalabras.gal<\/a>), which is the central component of the initiative and the repository of our content and proposals. Soon it will have been in existence for three years.
\n 
\n· An e-dictionary that can be accessed over portaldaspalabras.gal and academia.gal. The first version was posted four years ago.
\n 
\n· Mobile apps of the DicionarioRAG for iOS and Android. In the middle of June we will be launching the third version which includes a synonym finder, access to mobile games and the automatic updating of the voice database without any need to install a new app.
\n 
\n· … and considerable experience accumulated.
\n 
\nWe have also been preparing the following:
\n 
\n· And experimental “DicionarioLab” space with different possibilities for accessing dictionaries, searching for meanings, synonyms, verb conjugations, etc. via various electronic mediums.
\n 
\n· A lexis communication standard –web model, content model, basic dictionary management components, app model, etc.– which allows other languages to take advantage of our experience by replicating it and our creations.
\n 
\n· The setting up of a possible network of languages as they may be interested in working in line with these standards of lexis dissemination and be keen to share resources, ideas and needs with us and with others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
