“Iniciativa pol Asturianu nes ondes” and “Alderiques d’asturies” constitute a joint project run by the Iniciativa pol Asturianu NGO in collaboration with Conocer Asturias and Producciones Gomeru.<\/p>\n

The project has two parts:<\/p>\n

“Iniciativa pol Asturianu nes ondes” is a radio programme over the Internet that is also broadcast every week, thanks to agreements with radio stations all over Asturias via more than 12 radio stations in Asturias. This enables it to reach thousands of people and population profiles that do not have Internet access.<\/p>\n

“Alderiques d’asturies” emerged later as the first online TV channel to use the Asturian language as its working language with an independent, dynamic line-up geared towards all sectors of society. For the last few months it has also been broadcasting its programmes via TDT and cable TV of Asturias.<\/p>\n

Both projects are self-financing and run by teams of individuals linked to Iniciativa pol Asturianu.<\/p>\n

Set up in 2011, the Iniciativa pol Asturianu is an NGO working in support of the normalising of the Asturian language and the recognition of the linguistic rights of its speakers. As we see it, Asturian has to be the backbone of Asturian society and its use has to be transversal, by encouraging the institutions, private organisations and civil society to adopt the measures needed to normalise it as a tool for communication, an element for identification purposes and the cultural and economic heritage of the Asturian society which is what it is. Iniciativa pol Asturianu is working to seek consensus and agreements in the political and social sphere and to open up unexplored fields and take the linguistic conflict of Asturias to the Asturian, Spanish, European and International institutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
