To participate, there are basically two requirements:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n1- <strong>50&nbsp;% of the staff who deal with the public have to be able to speak Basque.&nbsp;<\/strong>As a minimum, half of the members of staff who deal with customers have to be able to express themselves adequately in Basque.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n2- <strong>The staff will undertake to say the first word in Basque<\/strong> and will guarantee this option for any customer who wants to speak in Basque.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe establishments that meet these requirements and which are interested in participating in the project will affix a sticker in such a way that it can be seen from outside (on the door or shop window), so that when the customers see it, they will know that they can speak in Basque at that particular establishment.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nIn addition, the establishments are made known via www.merkatari.eus and &nbsp;www.donostiaeuskaraz.eus through an interactive map.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nFinally, campaigns to promote these establishments are run so that citizens know where they can receive the service in Basque.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The aim of this practice is to identify and promote the establishments that allow customers to speak in Basque in the commercial, hotel and catering, and services sectors. &nbsp;
