{"id":23628,"date":"2022-05-10T13:46:21","date_gmt":"2022-05-10T12:46:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/soziolinguistika.eus\/ekitaldia\/behategia-2\/"},"modified":"2022-05-10T13:46:21","modified_gmt":"2022-05-10T12:46:21","slug":"behategia-2","status":"publish","type":"ekitaldia","link":"https:\/\/soziolinguistika.eus\/en\/ekitaldia\/behategia-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Behategia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Observatory of Basque-language Media is a space for research and reflection focussing on collaboration between universities and mass media in Basque.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThanks to an agreement concluded by the association Hekimen, which brings together over 50 projects on communication in Basque, and by the UPV\/EHU-University of the Basque Country, the University of Deusto and the Mondragon University, it has been possible to set up the space that is seeking to transfer knowledge and promote innovation. Since it was set up in 2012, the Hekimen association has been committed to research and innovation. Against this background and when noticing that it was essential to build bridges between the mass media in Basque and the universities, Hekimen, the UPV\/EHU, Deusto and Mondragon took the necessary steps to set up a framework so that collaboration could take place, and they committed themselves to setting up the Observatory.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nThe Observatory is the antenna that is attached to the media in Basque and to the social and media ecosystem they experience. Firstly, it seeks to highlight the contribution made by the media towards language normalisation and towards the strengthening of the speech community. To do this, it works on new proposals for measuring the quantitative and qualitative impact of the media that work in Basque.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nSecondly, it sets out to identify the challenges and opportunities facing the Basque-language sector as a result of the socio-technological changes that are taking place and which will continue to take place in media consumption and, in the light of this, to seek alternatives.
