This is a project to make available through parents and teachers to the new generations the transmission of the heritage (songs, stories, games, etc.) and childhood speech collected after gathering the oral tradition all over Navarre. The aim is to make the resources found in the heritage of Navarre for speaking to children in Basque at home, in pre-school and anywhere, available to families in particular, but also to people involved in education and leisure activities.
It is a project that has brought together songs and stories gathered from the oral heritage of Navarre (to play using hands and fingers, to trot, to play in groups, to train the memory and to go to sleep). It includes a book, a CD of music and an audiovisual DVD. In the book the content has been classified according to use and there is vocabulary on children’s speech and advice for speaking in Basque at home. The DVD has two parts: “Porrotxen bisita”: Porrotx the clown has come to get to know the heritage of Navarre and will go around all the villages to find out, with the children’s help, the anecdotes about children’s speech. “Ttikiekin jolasten eta solasten”: this part shows how this content can be used in everyday life in the family.
There are words and games that are used with the children and which are specially designed to explain the aspects of love and attachment which are so important in the transmission of a language.
