The documentary A memoria da lingua has emerged out of the project entitled O galego vivencial. Recuperación da memoria histórica da lingua galega en Galicia. It is a documentary about the historical memory of the Galician language.
 
Through dozens of interviews given by highly varied Galician-speaking people, we have put together a documentary in which the Galician language is the protagonist. It shows us life stories that help us to see the socio-linguistic reality of the situation of repression that our language experienced and continues to experience.
 
Through the narrations of various experiences by the speakers of the language, the documentary mostly aims to make visible the reality in which the Galician language finds itself in Galicia.  A small, socio-linguistic study has also been conducted on the situation of the language in the country and its speakers; it has served to criticise the policies implemented by the Xunta de Galiza (Regional Government of Galicia) in the matter of language normalisation and repression with respect to the language and its speakers.
 
The documentary has been screened in various high schools, social centres and other cultural spaces and has been spread over the Internet as well.
