#Pigliatiquè is a web page that regularly publishes jokes and comic strips in the Corsican language.
These sometimes include sarcastic, humorous jokes or else modernised proverbs.
It provides the Corsican language with a regular presence on the social networks using a simple, minimalist format and an up-to-date form of expression (jokes and comic strips), the aim being to anchor the language in modernity. Let’s look at some figures: 4,500 Facebook fans, 1,000 Twitter followers and 2,500 Instagram followers.
The idea emerged out of the need to foster an increased presence of Corsican in civil society. We believe we can drive forward this change by using the mediums of free expression we have available on the Internet.
The aims are as follows: to provide the Corsican language with greater prominence; to suppress preconceived ideas; to take the language out of the pre-established framework of demands and safeguards and thus prevent it being turned into a museum piece; to have a simple point of view; to try to reach other members of the public (teenagers, youngsters, adults); and to use an up-to-date means of expression that is in fashion. In short, to popularise and modernise the language in order to simplify the aim and give the language a use extending beyond family and school.
