eusLiderrak

eusLiderrak is a workshop that aims to encourage new language behaviours. It seeks to encourage the use of informal registers of Basque, by stressing the language attitude of individuals so that they then influence their environment. To achieve this objective, the participants in the workshop have various tools and resources at their disposal. The eusLiderrak workshop has between 3 and 6 short sessions.

Changing language habits, just like any other change in habits, requires a certain degree of effort; as yet, no pill that will replace it has been invented. However, change can be enjoyable and pleasant; it does not have to be a hard grind. It is important that the change takes place gradually, that the achievements made are consolidated, and that it is done bearing in mind the areas of interest and motivations of the participants.

The aims of the eusLiderrak sessions are as follows: to influence the attitude towards languages, to encourage new behaviours and to reinforce language leadership.

What we are talking about at the end of the day is a process of acquisition and empowerment. The survival of a language community depends, among other factors, on its will to continue to be one. So it is important that those of us who want to speak a minoritized language should be aware of our situation of submission, that we should take the necessary steps towards equality, understood always as a process of ongoing improvement.

The eusLiderrak workshop consists of 3-6 short sessions in which, in a structured way, the participants are provided with information as well as tools and different models. Aim: to perform an action in Basque, in addition to overcoming fear and embarrassment in speaking in Basque, and the prejudices relating to this language. If this change, no matter how small it is, is emotionally significant, it will divide up the prevailing mental system, which will entail a restructuring of thought.

In turn, this new thought will bring with it more changes in behaviour and longer-lasting ones.
